Is my money safe and does the deposit guarantee also apply to my Pillar 3a assets?
The security of your Pillar 3a pension assets is particularly important to us. The money is therefore held in an account at the Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB) – and the canton of Basel-Landschaft is legally liable for BLKB's liabilities.
This state guarantee is particularly important because, in principle, the assets in a Pillar 3a account are not protected by the usual system of deposit insurance. With most other providers, the 3a funds are merely treated as privileged up to a maximum of CHF 100,000 in the event of insolvency.
